1. Minutes from January 22, 2009 Board Meeting read by Denise Hunt. Bill Robbins motioned to accept as read, Herb Daws second
2. Guy Berger was not present but sent Treasurer’s report and copies for review, read by Denise Hunt. Dick Schweitzer motioned to accept as presented, Bill Robbins second
3. Membership Report – 31 2 new member prospects
4. Nolan reported on Divisional Meeting about 4th of July float and booth. Each club will have a representative in the parade and at the booth. The booth will feature an event or strength each club is known for. Nolan suggested the Pet Parade for our club. The parade will be a 3 hour commitment there will be more details to follow.
5. Upcoming programs and events:
· 3/5 Dave Kelly, speaker
· 3/6 Men at Woodland Elementary
· 3/19 Bud Jones, speaker
· 3/23 serving supper at Ronald McDonald House
· 4/18 Volunteer for Better Sandy Springs at Ronald McDonald House
· 5/29 Saturday – Dunwoody club needs help with their annual Soap Box Derby
6. Nolan asked Dick S. to check into Qrtly RMDH meals
7. Woodland Elementary Teacher Appreciation Day – Elise MacIntyre voiced by Nolan asked for $75 to assemble goodie baskets for the teachers. Nolan motioned for approval of the expenditure, Dick Schweitzer second.
8. Woodland elementary sign w/Kiwanis logo made by Dick S to be put up at school
9. Ripples – Dick Schweitzer motioned to discontinue Ripples as the website has the same information, we have one member who does not have email and Dick said he would put info in that person’s mailbox. Second by Brad Katz.
10. Pet Parade – Milt Gorman agreed to chair the event. It was decided that we would have no booth but if the Key Club was interested we would give it to them. Vicki Freeman and Denise Hunt have volunteered to be on the committee.
11. Steve Young had suggested getting history on the club. Nolan has also asked Charlie Shepard to start on project to create a tri-fold
12. Dick Schweitzer/Denise Hunt will find a place to have a Happy Hour in April, celebrate finale to Ripples.
13. Bill Robbins has offered to look for another venue for 3/19 meeting and going forward.
14. The board suggested Guy Berger to head the Nominating Committee for next year’s officers.
